PFC Corofil C450 Fire Stop is used for preventing fire penetration to adjoining compartments between edge of floor slab and a curtain walling/cladding system or between brick/block cavities in either a horizontal or vertical situation for a specified periods up to 2 hours. They are manufactured to suit cavity widths and are held in place by a combination of compression and adhesive or multi purpose brackets.

  1. Keep material dry and protect from impact damage.
  2. Ensure correct width is installed to suit the required Fire Rating.
  3. Horizontal Fire Stop
    1. Apply adhesive to edge of concrete slab and push C450 into position, or if using multi purpose brackets spike into material at 500mm centres, insert into cavity and fix to concrete if instructed.
    2. Ensure tight butt joints.
    3. If using C144 profiled blocks to cladding, coat edges with adhesive and compress and fit making sure blocks are in line with C450.
  4. Where applications require a total smoke seal, coat with Firecheck paint as directed.
  5. For brick/block cavities insert a damp-proof membrane (DPM) between outer skin and C450.
  6. Vertical
    1. Adhere C450 to blockwork. Ensure DPM is in place as outer skin is constructed.
    2. Ensure tight butt joints.

PFC Corofil C450 Cavity Firestops are manufactured from high density mineral fibre. Dust or fibre generated from handling or cutting, if inhaled over a prolonged period, constitutes a health hazard.
   
Eye Contact

Eye Contact

The product may cause irritation or inflammation. Goggles should be worn where there is a risk of dust or fibres entering the eyes. If dust or fibres enter the eye - hold the eyelids apart and irrigate with clean fresh water for five minutes.
   

Skin Contact

The product may cause irritation to sensitive skins. Protective overalls and gloves should be worn to minimise exposure.
   
Skin Contact If irritation occurs then wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water.
   
Inhalation

Inhalation

Inhalation may cause irritation. Ensure adequate ventilation when cutting, and wear a dust mask complying with BS2091 or BS6016.
   
Disposal

Disposal

Remove waste debris and place in strong plastic bags.
