Installation Instructions

PFC Corofil Intumescent Pipe Bands are used to prevent fire penetration in plastic pipes which pass through walls or floors for specified period up to 4 hours. They are manufactured as a sealed unit to the correct length and width to suit the pipe diameter and fire rating.

  1. Check that pipe surface is clear of mortar.
  2. Ensure that the correct pipe band is installed to suit diameter and fire rating.
  3. Wrap around pipe and fix with integral self-adhesive strip.
  4. Slide into position ensuring that the bottom edge is exposed in a floor slab and both edges are exposed in the wall. Two bands may be necessary when the wall thickness exceeds 150mm.
  5. Seal the pipe band into the structure with PFC Corofil Firestop Compound.

PFC Corofil Intumescent Pipe Bands are manufactured from two layers of rubber sheet with intumescent compound sealed in a plastic sleeve.
